Hoedown what?

Don't laugh, but I have to have this dance memorized before the ASB assembly on May 4th that my kids are putting on. We are starting off the assembly with this dance because they assure me that everyone will enjoy it. I guess as long as I don't have to rap in it I will be fine.

Oh, and I bought this dress yesterday morning, but the hubby doesn't know. =)

I actually bought it in charcoal gray, but apparently that color has already been snatched up. This makes me feel even better because if I had waited it would have been gone. =)

Scratch This

I had one of the crappiest days ever today. Not only did I scratch my new Macbook, but it was flippin' hot...making our time in the classroom miserable. I also got bitched out by a fellow colleague who is such the bully, had to stay after for track, and had to stay at the school until a meeting for GATE parents at 6:30. I got home ay eight, and right now I feel guilty writing this because I should be stamping my kids papers and making some updates to a webpage for master's classes.

Oh, and did I mention that the house my husband and I were going to put an offer on was sold today.

Here's to this Monday being over!

Missing Paris

I am definitely missing Paris. Look how adorable this necklace at ChainChainChained Etsy's store is:

Summer Please

It's Spring Break for me, but the weather is so blah that I haven't been able to lay out one day. Thinking about all of the work ahead of me for the next couple of months is making me long for summer so much. With that in mind, here are a few things I am looking forward to using:
Kiehl's puts out my absolute, hands down, favorite lip balm. Now, they have it available in a new scent: coconut.

Bath and Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena scent always makes me long for a tropical vacation.

These metallic brown Havaianas look fabulous against a nice tan.

And OPI's new color "OPI on Collins Ave." from their South Beach collection will just pop on a nice sunny day.

Hope you have had a lovely Friday. Here's to the weekend...may I savor my last few student-free moments.

La-Lohan...Red Again??

La-gorgeous! In the wake of her break-up with Samantha, Lindsay has gone back to being a redhead, and I just want to say that she looks fabulous! She totally makes me want to dye my hair red.

Totally Retro

I should not be allowed to shop by myself. Honestly, it just leads to trouble. Today, while on Spring Break, I decided to treat myself to some new sunglasses. I haven't bought a new pair in two years, so I decided to reward myself. Say hello to my new retro purchase:
The Rayban Wayfarer glasses are just a classic. Their smooth, strong lines are just adorable, and they are so flattering. I know this is a style that will last, so I thought, "Why not?" Though I am sure my husband could have come up with thousands of reasons why not to, I still did. =) Summer here I come.

Hair Envy

Hello girlies, I just woke up on my first day of Spring Break, and it is heaven. So I would like to tell you about the hair envy I have for one of my favorite songwriters. Her name is Jessie Baylin, and not only is she an extremely talented songwriter with a voice that is so smooth and silky that it just relaxes you as soon as she starts singing, she is absolutely STUNNING and has the best hair in the entire world.

I took the plunge and got my hair layered like her back in January (this was a huge step for me since I hadn't cut my long hair in five years), but I...just...cannot...seem...to...get...it...like...her. ::sigh:: It is so frustrating. I cannot get it all piecy like hers at all.

By chance, I stumbled across the beautiful Francesca's blog, Franesca, Make Me Pretty, and emailed her asking her how she does Jessie Baylin's hair. She was so kind to email me back, and I am determined now to go out and buy some Bumble and Bumble products to get my hair looking like that. We shall see.

Jessie and I at one of her shows =)
